Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique
The Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique is the largest governmental research organisation in France and the largest fundamental science agency in Europe. CNRS’s work on stem cells focuses on MSC from adipose tissue and bone marrow and their use in regenerative medicine, with a particular emphasis on their potential application in the treatment of osteoarthritis. CNRS has participated in a number of previous FP networks (Genostem then ADIPOA and CASCADE) where they have carried out the comparison of MSC from bone marrow and ASC at genomic, proteomic differentiation capability and secretome levels. CNRS recently filed a important patent on the key role of a secreted protein on the immunomodulary functions of ASCs.
