Etablissement Francais du Sang

EFS is the French national blood service and is the main body involved in cellular therapy and development of ATMPs in France. Currently, EFS ensures the production of MSCs as ATMPS in France through coordination of national production platform of ECELL France program. With CNRS and INSERM, EFS in Toulosue has developed specific culture process for ex vivo expansion of ASCs (Adipose derived MSCs). EFS has developed a process for the selection and amplification of MSCs from adipose tissue and has specific programmes researching the definition and role of native MSCs in vivo, the differentiation through pathways involved in skeletal tissues repair (bone, cartilage and tendon) and the analysis and comprehension of genetic stability of cultured MSCs.
