Cathal Moran

Professor of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, Trinity College Dublin and Sports Surgery Clinic

Prof. Cathal Moran completed his Orthopaedic Residency in Ireland and Clinical Fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at Hospital for Special Surgery New York & Belgium/Europe. He previously completed BSc in Pharmacology as well as Research Doctorate Degrees in Orthopaedic Tissue Engineering & Stem Cell Application. He has significant sub-specialty expertise in cartilage & meniscus repair as well as biological augmentation of surgery for soft tissue injuries at knee and shoulder. He has written 50 peer-reviewed publications, with particular emphasis on cartilage, regenerative surgery and tissue engineering.

Raymond Moran

Medical Director, Sports Surgery Clinic

Mr. Raymond Moran is Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon and Medical Director at SSC. He was previously Consultant at Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital and Beaumont Hospital, Dublin (1991-2014). He is the president of Irish Orthopaedic Association. He has extensive experience in research and education in Orthopaedic Surgery over past 30 years. He currently has a large knee surgery practice and over 20 peer-reviewed publications focusing on knee surgery.
